Water Colour Paint?
Sunday, March 20, 2011 || 11:12 AM

Hi! it's day 1 of SDP! not sure of what we're supposed to do though.
However, it was really a fun day!

We got to have a mini school tour in the DES school and I LOVE the entire school! It's interesting how we're able to see people from the different courses and their artworks. Furthermore, I love the IAD room! Wish that i could make those model buildings one day..

After that, we had a mini quiz session. I didn't know that the favourite tea-time snack is fishballs! O.o and there's a drink called Ben 10! :D Cool! Had lunch at Mensa 2 with the seniors, and i really got to know more about design and what we'll be doing etc.

After lunch, we headed down to Marina Bay/Basin (i really don't know where's that place called) and did some water colour painting.

Luckily, it had rained earlier on and it was kind of cooling and windy.. VERY relaxing! It was also very nice of the lecturer to bring the art materials. C: At first, it was kind of stressful as the lecturer showed us her sketches and told us to do something like hers. My jaw dropped! Her sketches were so... professional? Haha! and we were new to this too!

Well, at least we all tried our best? I did some pencil sketches first before using the paint. My first mistake was to paint the Esplanade blue(!) and it seemed like i couldn't erase it at all! i kept on making mistakes after mistakes, but i tried to make them less obvious by diluting the paint with a lot of water! ^^ Oops?

Anyway, it was nice sitting along the river and doing sketches. It really taught me that enjoying life can be as simple as sitting down and admiring your surroundings! Furthermore, it's a really good way to relax and de-stress after a long day of work or studies! Moreover, after doing my art piece, I am really inspired and motivated to do random sketches anytime, and anywhere.

The only thing i felt uncomfortable with was the attraction we had.. many passers-by (not forgetting, the tourists) saw us sitting in one row, drawing and painting. They then came up to us to take a look at our artworks. It was embarrassing for me as I thought that my artwork looked ugly and i didn't want people to know that I'm a bad artist.. Haha! One of the tourists even came up to ask if they could take a picture of us drawing.. It was a fun experience nonetheless?

Anyway, i didn't really finish my artpiece, so i went home to complete it.

All in all, i really enjoyed myself! :D I wonder if i get to do this in year 1? hmmm... :P
